IN LOVING MEMORY OF
William Alfred
Gimson
September 9, 1943 – April 10, 2019
William "Bill" Alfred Gimson was born in Doylestown, PA on September 9, 1943 to parents Charles and Helen Gimson. Bill attended Central Bucks High School, graduating in 1962. Bill married first wife Linda, and they were blessed with three children: William Jr. (1965), James (1966), and Kandy (1969). In the 1970's Bill and the kids lived in Florida and Tennessee. During the summer of 1980, the family moved to Emporia, KS so Bill could start work as a pipe-fitter at Wolf Creek Nuclear Generating Station. Bill met Jacque Sharp of Wichita, KS in 1981 while she was in Emporia visiting family. Bill and Jacque were married January 23, 1982 in Emporia. After brief stays in Emporia and North Carolina, Bill and Jacque settled in Wichita, KS in 1986 where daughter Amanda was born in 1987. Bill worked as a maintenance plumber at Wichita State University until retirement in December of 2003. Throughout the years, Bill became a grandfather to six, and great-grandfather to five.
Bill will be remembered as a vibrant man with glistening blue eyes that always had a spark of mischievousness. He loved watching football, especially Florida State, any type of auto racing, tending to his garden, and enjoyed cooking; he was famous for his spaghetti and chili. Bill was a passionate supporter of his family and all their endeavors. He loved many and was loved by many.
