West

"To Every thing there is a season, a time to every purpose under the Heaven"
On September 10, 2022 Wilburn "Pete" Leo West at the age of 93 years old, he went home to be with the Lord surrounded by Family during his hospice care at home. Wilburn was born July 15, 1929 to Wavie Edith Green and Addison Glasper West. Wilburn was the seventh of eleven siblings;.. Wilburn's Parents and Three brothers ..Tommy (Rich), Glasper and Henry West. His Sisters Mozelle West, Rosetta Britt, and Ella Mae West ., Son Jay L West , grandsons Gerald L West Jr., and Bryan Gerald Tucker Sr., all preceded Wilburn in death. Wilburn attended elementary and high school in Coal Hill Arkansas. At the age of 19 he enlisted in the Untied States Air Force where he recieved a honorable discharge. Wilburn was stationed in Texas, Japan, Guam and Salina Kansas during his service to his Country. He served his country faithfully from 1952-1956.
Wilburn confessed his faith in God and taught Sunday school and sung in Male choir at Greater St Mary's Baptist Church. Upon leaving the Air Force Wilburn became employed at Terminal Railroad in Wichita Kansas where he served as Foreman and Supervisor. He received numerous promotions while employed at Terminal Railroad. Wilburn was an outstanding employee for Forty years retiring in 1991. He was untied in Marriage to Bernice J Thompson their five children was raised to love others and embrace life with grace and honor.
Wilburns oldest daughter Trinese Jenkins was born before the Union. Wilburn also was Married to Helen West, his second wife. Wilburn was a Humble man quiet but firm. Wilburn was always concerned and cared about his loving Family. He loved gardening and he had the BEST garden in the neighborhood. Wilburn was a very knowledgeable man repairing and replacing anything. He was a "Do it yourself" kinda of guy. His love for his Family was immeasurable. Always listening Sacrificing and giving whenever he could. Wilburn was a Good Father, Son ,Uncle and Grandfather " Papa" cousin and Friend to everyone!!! Many knew him in the Community as a honorable and respectable man. Wilburn West was a Man ADORED !!! He leaves To Cherish His Children Mr Ronnie West (Carol), Mr Gerald West , Mrs. Berlinda Tucker (Mike), Mrs. Damita Jo Cowser ( Fredrick) and Trinese Jenkins and 18 Grandchildren and 25 plus great -Grandchildren. Also Four Sisters, Mrs Delores Johnson(Nate), Mrs. Arlevia Perry , Mrs. Waivie York and Osa Lee Perry And several Cousins , Nieces, Nephews and a host of Friends.
