Obituary

Wanda Pearl Smith Jacoby, born in Cameron, MO, Dec. 19, 1927, to Thelma and Bryan Smith, great-grandma, grandma, mom, wife, teacher and sports enthusiast, married Raymond Otto Jacoby Jr. July 2, 1949. They had two sons, William Clark and Charles Douglas (wife Molly); grandson, Jay Michael (daughter-in-law Alison); great-grandchildren, Trinity and Liberty Burklow and Ronan Jacoby. Wanda graduated from Central Missouri State University. She taught in USD 259 for many years. There was nothing she valued more than someone with an education. She became interested in sports while she was in college. That interest grew into a lifelong love of sports, especially KU. She and Ray spent their last years together balancing their year between Wichita and Sun City, AZ. Wanda loved animals, especially "her" dog, Shadow. A memorial service will be this Friday, Jan. 31, 2020, 11:30 A.M, at Hillside Christian Church, 8330 E. Douglas Ave., Wichita, KS.
