Virginia M.Ruth-Shawver, 88, died peacefully on August 16, 2011. She was born on October 4, 1922 in Perryton, TX to H.R. and Willie Mae Russell.
She was twice blessed to share her life journey with husbands, Fred Ruth and later, after his death in 1984, to husband, Howard Shawver.
Virginia retired from the Sears Company after a long and distinguished service, even serving for many years for the company as a retired employee representative.
She is best known as Nana by her grandchildren and was very loved and well thought by many others. She commented to her family many times in her final days what a wonderful life she lived.
Funeral services will be at Old Mission Mortuary, 3424 E. 21 St. in Wichita on Monday, August 22 at 4:00 p.m., with viewing from 1 to 5 p.n. Sunday.

Virginia is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Harris Russell and Leo Russell; her husband of 44 years, Fred A. Ruth; and her husband, Howard S. Shawver who died in 2008.
Virginia is survived by one brother, C.D. Russell; two children, daughter, JoVeta Wescott and daughter and best friend, Sharon (Jerry) Guy. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Mike Westcott, Sherry Wescott, Scott Guy, Danny Wescott, Susie McCandless, Cathy Kramer, Robyn Colson and Stacey Larson; 26 great grandchildren; and 14 great-great grandchildren.
