Vickey lived in Wichita most of her life.
She went to OK Elementary, Hadley Junior High and North High School.
She went on to attend college at Wichita State University and graduated with a degree in Fine Arts.

While going to college Vickey worked part time at K Mart West and had many stories to tell about Red Light and Blue Light specials.
After graduating from Wichita State her first job in advertising was in the art department at Southwest Grease company designing the artwork for their packaging. Later she worked at Printing Inc. for 10 years. She worked at Boeing for 5 years in Planning and then 13 years at D-J Engineering in the estimating department. Vickey retired in August 2014.

On October 24, 1998 Vickey married Claude Riggins and had 2 step sons, Matthew Riggins and Brett Riggins.
Vickey had 4 older siblings, Harmon, Bob, Gaylene and Lloyd.
Vickey grew up close to her niece Tina Hopkins and her 2 cousins, Sharon Harvey and Laina Harris.
They had many experiences together and many stories to tell. One of the most memorable was a family trip to Houston, Texas to see the Beatles live and in person when they were teenagers.
Vickey was close to Tina's daughter Pamela and her children: Melanie, Kristy, Sarah, Wayne and Ross.

Vickey loved to travel. Vickey and Claude went on several trips together with the family including Hawaii 3 times, California, Seattle, Miami, Cancun, Cabo San Lucas, Orlando, Savannah, Charleston, St. Louis, and local trips to Oklahoma City and Kansas City. One memorable trip as a family was made to Colorado starting in Denver and driving through the mountains and spending a few days with her sister in law in Durango and riding the Durango to Silverton train through the mountains. Claude and Vickey went on a bus tour to the National Parks, leaving from Denver and going to Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Devil's Tower, a bear sanctuary and on west to the Bingham Copper mine near Salt Lake City and returning through Colorado to Denver.

Vickey was the kind of person that loved everyone and everyone loved her.
She never had a bad word to say about anyone.
She was always willing to help in any way she could.
When her sister Gaylene opened a second hand store, Vickey designed and made the sign for the business called The 2nd Time
Around. And she designed and made the sign for Dave and Sharon's antique store in Ponca City called Maud's Sugar Shack.

At an early age Vickey confessed her faith in Jesus Christ and became a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Wichita.
Vickey was very active in the church, helping in many areas and with many activities. She went on several trips with the singles class before getting married. One year she did the entire artwork for the Vacation Bible School and volunteered to help out with the Fall Festival.

Vickey's beautiful life will forever be cherished by all who knew her.
