Skewes, Susan Elaine Hans (Raming). Born September 8, 1939, died July 3, 2018.Susan was born in Kansas City, Missouri to Marty and Elaine Raming. When Susan was 8 years old, the Raming family welcomed little sister, Janet. Educated at Ruskin High School in Kansas City, Missouri, Susan was a vital part of the yearbook staff and played flute in the school band.She earned her bachelor's degree at Wichita State University and worked as a paralegal for the law firm of Gragert, Helbert and Gray. She was a tireless advocate who helped many people gain citizenship. Sue married Robert L. Hans on August 9, 1956. She raised five children and after being widowed on January 30, 1980, continued as the core of the family. She was the glue that held everyone together. She married Harry B. Skewes on August 27, 1986. Together they made a home in rural ElDorado. Susan was a life long lover of animals and a voracious reader. After retiring, she volunteered at the ElDorado Public Library and often volunteered on Election Day.Susan is preceded in death by her first husband, Robert L. Hans and her sister, Janet Raming Mills.
Susan is survived by her husband, Harry B. Skewes. Her children; Elzabeth (Michael) Beran, Greg (Kelly) Hans, Michael (Stephanie) Hans, James (Jeanie) Hans, and John (Tammy) Hans and her step-daughters Ellen Skewes and Carol Skewes. Susan was a much loved grandmother to Melissa (Nick) Breault, Courtney Hans, Nick Hans, Jason (Savannah) Hans, Misty Dulohery, Max Hans, McKenna (Anthony) Carnevale, Dej Hans, Lydia Hans, Felina Hans, Maggie Hans, Daniel Hans, Trey Reece and Marty Hans. Great-grandma to Emma, Annabelle, Tori, Bentley, Ember and two babies due this month. She is also survived by her beloved nieces, Colleen (Craig) Shore and Jennifer (John) Bray, her sister-in-law Linda Holt and many step grand children, and great grandchildren In Lieu of flowers please make donations to Kansas Humane Society, and Good Shepherd HospiceMemorial Service
