Shawn Mark Sauerbry was born April 16, 1976 at Portsmouth, New Hampshire, the older of two sons born to Stephen Michael Sauerbry and Emily Rae Wright Sauerbry.

He grew up in Bastrop, Texas where he attended public schools and graduated from high school. Working his way through college, he graduated summa cum laude from Wichita State University with an engineering degree. He was married to Clarissa Shaw and from this union a daughter, Sasha Maria Sauerbry, was born.

He served eight years in the United States Marines. Shawn was employed by Techam LLC, Wichita and was a member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers.

He was an avid reader, had a home theater set-up with a large screen where he enjoyed computer games, movies, and special features.

He died March 3, 2023 in Wichita. He is survived by his father Stephen Michael Sauerbry, Wichita; mother Emlily; granddaughter Sasha Maria Sauerbry; and a brother Ehren Sauerbry of Bastrop, Texas.
