Sharon Kay Brown lost her battle with cancer at the age of 64 on December 12, 2009.
Sharon was born on September 21, 1945, the daughter of Leo & Leota Knowles of Wichita, Kansas.
Sharon is survived by two sons, Roger & wife Cathy, Ricky & wife Shawn; two grandchildren, Brittney & Christina; three brothers, Roger Knowles & wife Kim; and many nieces and nephews.
Sharon is preceded in death by her parents and one sister Vickie Okerstrom.
Sharon lived in Piedmont, Kansas where she drove a school bus for West Elk High School. In her spare time she enjoyed working in her yard and loved going fishing. It didn't matter to Sharon if she sat all day fishing without ever getting a bite.
It never took much to make her happy! She could bring a smile to the face of anyone that was fortunate enough to be around her.
Sharon later moved back to Wichita where she lived and took care of her mother until her death. She worked numerous jobs. Throughout the years, Sharon still looked forward to the weekend when she could come back to Piedmont and mow the yard. Simply put, she loved it. Not only that, but she would even try to sneak in a fishing trip if she thought she could get away with it.
Sharon loved family. She was especially proud of her granddaughters, Brittney & Christina. Very little time went by that she didn't talk about them.
Doesn't seem to be a single person whose life she hasn't brightened at some point in her life.
Sharon will be missed by all.
On December 17, 2009 at noon, family and friends gathered in the Piedmont Cemetery to say farewell to Sharon's earthly body. A service was held and she was laid to rest in her beloved Piedmont.
