Rudolph Dwight Voigt was born in Wichita, KS on April 24, 1945, to Maxine and Curtis Voigt. He passed away in Wichita, KS on July 9, 2025.

Dwight graduated from Douglass High School in 1964. He then joined the Air Force, working as a security policeman, until being honorably discharged in 1968. He joined the Wichita Police Department in 1969, starting out as a patrol man. He later attended Wichita State University, earning a certificate of Applied Science in Administration of Justice, which led to him working as a lab detective. He retired in 1990 after 21 years with the Wichita Police Department. He then went to work at Wesley Hospital as a security guard until retiring for medical reasons.

Dwight met his wife, Marsha, while working as a patrol man. He frequented the Peter Pan Ice Cream Store that she worked at. They were married on June 6, 1971, and had two children. He had a variety of hobbies and interests over the years, including World War II history, guns, coins, and fossils.

Dwight is survived by his son, Bryan Voigt; daughter, Rene Voigt; sister, Loree Voigt; brother, Curtis Norman Voigt; brother-inlaw, Mark Robertson (Phyllis); sister-in-law, Cheryl Allen (Ken); and nephews, Matt Robertson, Logan Robertson, Luke McPherson (Cara), and Jacob McPherson (Traci).

Dwight was preceded in death by his wife, Marsha (Robertson) Voigt; father, Rudolph Curtis Voigt; and mother, Konina Maxine (Clark) Voigt.

His celebration of life service will be held on July 28, at 11:00AM at Old Mission Mortuary. There will be no graveside service.
