Roy Andrew “Andy” Yackley, II, age 80, died at home July 13, 2026. He was the third of three children born to Roy and Ruth Yackley on June 7, 1946, in Wichita, KS. With a Master’s degree in Sociology, he loved to debate ideas and theories. He also loved poetry, to study languages and cultures and discuss their origins and histories. After receiving his degree, his studied for a year in Ethiopia, stating it was one of most influential aspects of his life. He later became a Master Upholsterer and had his own re-upholstery shop for a number of years. He was a great philosopher; had a sharp sense of humor and loved a good conversation. He is survived by: his sister, Becky Cooper; niece and nephews, Rene’, Shawn and Adam Cooper, and Mark (Lisa Lear) Ware, all of Las Vegas, NV; niece Brandi (Todd) Phifer of Wichita, KS; and numerous great nieces & nephews. He is preceded in death by: his parents; sister, Ruthanne Barker, and nieces, Debbie Greve & Mitzi Ware. Services are pending and will be announced at a later date.
