Roland Banks, was born May 23, 1933 and passed over to eternal life on April 5, 2012.
He lived a full life serving in the military, traveling and becoming an integral part of the staff at Wichita State University in their athletic department. Among his many accomplishments, he was inducted into the Wichita Sports Hall of Fame in 2006.
A faithful and loyal member of Brotherhood Presbyterian Church USA. He loved the Lord and supported his church with all the resources he had. The Brotherhood Church family really loved Roland and would tend to him during his health challenges. Roland will be greatly missed but certainly never forgotten.
He leaves to cherish his memories, Lydia, his loving wife; daughter, Carla; son, Ronald; brother, Maurice; niece, Cheryl and a host of cousins, friends and loved ones.
Funeral services will be held Friday 11:00 a.m. at Strangers Rest Church, 2521 N. Grove. Visitation will be Thursday 4 to 8 p.m. at Old Mission Mortuary.
