Robert (Bob) L. Musgrove, 82, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 20, 2010.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Revs. J.B. and Ruby Musgrove; and his wife of 59 years, Alma Musgrove, in 2008. The couple had three children, Kathy (Dan) Flynn and Laura (Arlice) Davenport, all of Wichita, and Robert Paul (Connie) Musgrove, of rural Valley Center. Mr. Musgrove is also survived by his siblings, Revs. Leota Morar and Derald (Peggy) Musgrove, all of Springfield, MO; Marva Ellis of Ashland; Don Musgrove of Canon City, CO; and Roger Musgrove of Meade.
Bob deeply loved and was devoted to his three granddaughters, three step-granddaughters, two great-granddaughters and two great-grandsons, all of whom live in the area.
He made friends wherever he went, and was admired for his gentle spirit, helping hands, exemplary work ethic, and vibrant Christian life.
Born on December 31, 1927, near Woodston, Bob attended school in towns where his parents pastored the local Assemblies of God congregation, including Alton, Palco and Yates Center. He graduated from high school in 1947 and returned to Osborne County to work, meeting Alma in 1948. After marrying, he worked for 10 years in road construction before moving his family to Wichita in 1961. For more than 16 years, he delivered milk for Ramsey Dairy, and was Sunday school superintendent at Glad Tidings Assembly of God for 19 years. In 1977, he went to work at Beech Aircraft and served with distinction until his retirement in 1993.
Viewing and visitation with the family will be at Old Mission Mortuary in Wichita on Saturday, March 27, from noon-1:30 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 1:30 p.m. The family will attend a private burial at White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
Bob will be deeply missed by his family and countless friends, who admired and loved him dearly.
Two memorials -- Good Shepherd Hospice and Assemblies of God Woodston Camp -- have been established in his honor.
