Pearl Margaret Powell (formerly of Wichita), was born on March 26, 1917 in Leeds, KS to Silas and Katie Handy. She was one of 8 children. Pearl married Blackie Manard in May 1933, they had 2 daughters, Louise and Lorraine, later divorcing. Pearl worked for Coleman for a short period of time. Later marrying Bill Powell in 1944, they had 2 sons, Jimmy and Jerry. Bill preceded her in death in 1974. Pearl owned and operated the Rock Castle Cafe` in Wichita, KS from 1976-1987, later moving to Arkansas City in 2014. Pearl was preceded in death by her parents; siblings; husband, Bill Powell; sons, Jimmy Powell and Jerry Powell and granddaughters, Cathy Nichols and Amy Lawlar. She is survived by her daughters, Louise Nichols of Arkansas City and Lorraine Jimenez of Oklahoma City; 9 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-great-grandchildren.
