Obituary

Pauline Delores (Schwind) Evans went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, January 23, 2023. She was born on December 6, 1932 in Alma, Arkansas to William and Myrtle Rogers in the corner of the living room of their country home. She was the baby of the family with five brothers and two sisters. Pauline graduated from Alma High School. After high school, she started nursing training but was unable to finish. She would say that this was something she would later regret. She married Richard Schwind and they had six children. She was active in her children's lives watching their various sports, school, and church activities. Her jobs included working as a short order cook and driving for the Kansas Department of Transportation where her favorite job was plowing snow. Her hobbies were bowling, wood crafts, and quilting. She enjoyed spending time outdoors growing and sharing from her flower and vegetable gardens. Pauline loved watching sports. Her favorite teams were, Kansas Jayhawks basketball, Kansas City Chiefs football and she was an avid fan of anything related to the Arkansas Razorbacks. Wooo Pig Soooie!! After Pauline and Richard divorced, she later married Bill Evans. They resided in Hutchinson, Kansas where she cooked at the local bowling alley restaurant. She enjoyed participating in bowling leagues and tournaments. The last seven years of her life she enjoyed living at Sunflower Gardens in Valley Center. She recently celebrated her 90th birthday where many friends and family were able to celebrate with her making it a very memorable and joyful day. Pauline is preceded in death by her ex-husband Richard Schwind; husband, Bill Evans; son, Allen Schwind; daughter, Kathy Schwind and grandson Rodney Schuessler. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Chris and Becky Schwind, Mike and Wendy Schwind, Jeff and Pat Schuessler, Jeff and Tina Schwind, along with her grandchildren, Tim, Tiffany, James, Blane, Michael, Julie, Bradley, Abbygail, Audrey, William; 20 great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. Memorial donations collected will be sent to the Wounded Warrior Project.
