Otha Mae Dixson, was born on February 29, 1928 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to the proud parents William Purvey and Electra Purvey. Otha joined Mt. Zion at an early age under the direction of Rev. Lee Hannah where Otha attended regularly.

Otha moved to Wichita, Kansas where she joined Macedonia Baptist Church. She later joined Strangers Rest Baptist Church until God called her home.

On July 7, 1953 Otha met and married Barnabas Frank Dixson from this union were born four loving and devoted children Daughters Veda, Connie and Lisa; Son Barnabas.

She leaves to cherish in her loving memory, Veda Dixson of Wichita, Ks. Constance Burnett (Stanley) of Wichita, Ks. Lisa Reynolds (Charles) of Vacaville, Ca. and Son; Barnabas Dixson Jr. (Lisa) of Denver Co. 4 Grandchildren; Marcus Thomas, Mya Dixson, Mikaya Dixson, Christien  Dixson; 2 great grandchildren; Malayjah Thomas, Kamara Thomas. 4 sisters in laws Esther Blount, Johnny Douglas, Betty Dixson Wright, Cosetta Walker; 1 brother in law Everett Dixson.
