Minnie "Florence" (Rogers) Gummow, was born to Ernest and OraMae Rogers on March 30, 1941 in Clarksville, Arkansas. She passed away at her home in Wichita, Ks. on February 10, 2012 at the age of 70 years, 10 months and 10 days. She was a retired CNA. Minnine went by her middle name of Florence because growing up she got picked on because of her name. She laughs and tells stories of her being a fighter and a trouble maker. She used her given name to her advantage. Florence enjoyed sewing, working in her yard, baking, listening to classical and country music. Her family and friends enjoyed her Christmas Baking. Florence made wonderful fudge, peanut butter cookies, chocolate chip cookies and wonderful banana bread. Her extended family on the block always watched over Florence, always there to help her with whatever she needed- starting her lawn mower, raking leaves, getting her trashcan to the curb or just to come by to say hi! She could always look forward to getting special gifts from her littlest neighbor. Thank you for remembering our mom!
Florence was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Ruth Flekins, Teen Green, Carol King, Lucy Tuberville, and her loving husband, Lawrence.
She leaves her children, Michael (Cindy) McGarraugh of Wichita, Ks, Debra (Gary) Hagermann of New Mexico and Carol Ebel of Wichita, Ks.; several grandkids and great-grandkids.
