Mary Jane Drake, "Perch" was born Nov. 3, 1920 in Sawyer, Ks. to George V. and Nannie Belle (Wray) Webber. She died August 25, 2016 in Wichita, Kansas at the age of 95. Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who loved life to the fullest. Mary loved to bowl and continued until her age of 90! She worked for the Wichita Chief of Police as a secretary and on Jan. 17, 1942 she married Clarence "Bud" Drake and her love of showing horses began. Mary loved to garden, dance and make chocolate chip cookies and pumpkin pie for her family. Preceding her in death were her husband, Clarence "Bud" Drake; daughter, Jacque Drake; 6 brothers, Ray, Mike, Edwin, George, Robert, and Martin; 2 sisters, Elma and Helen. She is survived by her daughter, Gloria (Warren) Smith; 8 grandchildren, Jeff (Lisa) Tholen, Cindy (David) Jennings, Diana (Sandy) Tholen, Donna (Tracy) Tholen, Brea (Mike) Gaedtke, Brynn (Chris) Thornburg, Brandis (Josh) Kelly, Brayla (Alan) Williams; 16 great-grandchildren and a sister, Doris Jean Pooler. We will miss her sweet smile!
