Marjorie "Midge" Martinez died peacefully on December 6, 2016, in her home in Smyrna, TN. Born in Newton, KS on October 29, 1926, to James Arthur and Lucy Belle Herring, Midge moved to Wichita after she married her husband, Manuel S. Martinez. They had two children and created a fun-loving life that included going on family vacations, bowling, and dancing the Charleston. Midge was a long-time manager of the former Yale's Hallmark Store in Twin Lakes, but she was best known as the loving matriarch of a family that deeply adored her. She will be missed.

In addition to her parents and husband, Midge was preceded in death by her sister, Mildred Kirkland. She is survived by her son James D. Martinez (Karen) of Las Vegas, NV, daughter Diane Sauls of Smyrna, TN, her grandchildren Kelley Sauls Ellis (Scott) of Nashville, TN, Shawn Martinez of Wichita, KS, her nephews Brian Kirkland and Rodney Kirkland (Juanita), and many great grandchildren, grandnieces and grandnephews.
