Obituary

Margaret (Marge) Lillian Cone took the next step in her journey when she left this world on December 18, 2012 in the presence of her daughter, Deb, granddaughter, Marissa, grandson, Cody (via telephone), and close friend, Sue Wilson. Marge was 96½ years old. Her incredibly loving heart finally gave out and let her go join her Savior and the many loved ones who have gone before her, including her loving husband of 34 years, Harold H. Cone, who passed from this life in 2002. Marge had been living joyfully at Vista Shores Assisted Living Center in New Orleans for the last nine months; she loved the residents and staff at Vista and was well loved and cared for by all there. She was attended by Heart of Hospice for the last few months of her life and they, too, cared well and attentively for her needs. She passed very peacefully in the soft afternoon sunlight laying in her favorite recliner next to the open windows that overlook the red rose garden and Bayou St. John outside her window. Marissa remarked that the late afternoon sunlight softly glowing over the bayou seemed to be Grandma's spirit taking flight.
Marge leaves many loving relatives who will miss her dearly. Children: Dr. David Robert Henson (and wife Judy) - David's children: David Morris, Kim Houdashelt, Chris Henson, Stephany Henson; Dan Alan Henson - Dan's children: Abby Folse and Bain Henson; and Deborah Margaret Henson - Deb's children: Cody Ryan Henson and Marissa Margaret Henson. Stepchildren: Rick Cone (and wife Nancy); Mike Cone (and wife Audrey); James Cone; Leisa Cone (and husband Rocky). Plus numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Marge was known for her optimistic spirit that she called the "attitude of gratitude." All who knew her seemed touched by her in some special way as she listened to our stories and/or woes, and oft'times amused us with hers. She was truly a gift to us all and we will always keep her close inside our hearts to remind us of how to be truly loving and non-judgmental with others as she modeled for us.
