Margaret Mary McCall Jones Wathne was born in Beloit, Kansas on December 28, 1923 to John Henderson McCall and Margaret K. Stoner McCall. She passed away July 18, 2026 in Mulvane, Kansas. Margaret (Peggy) was a wonderful mother, Grammy and Great Grammy to her family. She was a terrific cook and loved to tend her flower garden. She volunteered for many years at Via Christi St. Joseph Hospital after her retirement as a secretary at Cessna and Boeing. Peggy is survived by her two sons, Marc S. (Susan) Jones of Derby, Kansas and Kevin C. Jones of Sherman Oaks, California; grandchildren Todd A. (Angie) Jones of Wichita, Kansas; Kameron L. (Tommy) Biggs, Wichita, Kansas and Adam S. (Christal) Jones of Derby, Kansas; great grandchildren Tarl D. (Jayla) Jones, Cheney, Kansas; Brandon C. Jones, Erie, Colorado; Raymond (Ashley) Woods, Wichita, Kansas; Corbin C. Jones of Derby, Kansas; three great-great grandchildren, two nieces and two nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; her sisters Dorothy McFadden and Ruth Hughes; her beloved cousins Jean and Bob McCall; her great grandson Stephen Woods and her husband of 50 years Clifford M. Wathne. Graveside service for Margaret and Clifford will be at White Chapel Cemetery, Wichita, Kansas on Saturday, August 15th at 12:00pm.
Clifford Martin Wathne was born in Oak Park, Illinois on March 19, 1930. He lived in Independence, Kansas and Wichita, Kansas and graduated from Wichita State University. He served in the Air Force as a SSGT. After the Air Force, he worked as an insurance adjuster for Farmers and Custard Insurance Agencies in Wichita, Kansas. In retirement, Cliff volunteered many years at Via Christi St. Joseph Hospital. He had three children with his first wife. Wayna, who preceded him in death; Denise and Brad. He married Margaret (Peggy) Wathne in June, 1970 in Emporia, Kansas. He passed away May 27, 2021 in Mulvane, Kansas. He will be interred with Peggy at White Chapel Cemetery in Wichita, Kansas.
