Obituary

Marchal Lea Lefler (67) of Wichita, Kansas, grabbed those gears one last time as she went to heaven to
be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 13, 2022. Knowing Marchal, she was certain to behind the wheel
of the finest Peterbilt as she rolled up, honking her horn, to the pearly gates. Marchal was born July 6,
1954, in Ft. Worth, Texas to Eddie and Margie Thompson but moved to Wichita, Kansas with her mother
when her parents divorced. Here they would both find the love of their lives, Charles "Jack" Lefler, who
as Marchal always said, "chose her" and became her daddy in both name and all the other ways that
mattered.

She was a 1972 graduate of Wichita Heights High School. While she explored several
different careers in her life, she found her true calling as a cross country truck driver which allowed her
to see places she'd never been as she delivered and picked up loads for Air Capitol Trucking from New
York to California. Sitting in the seat beside her for all her adventures was her rescue dog, Meesha, who
was her faithful companion and brought her much joy. She loved country music and attending live
concerts with her sister, the music of Elvis Presley, numerous television series, was an avid fan of
NASCAR and a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan. But, most importantly, she loved her children and
grandchildren something fierce.

Marchal was preceded in death by her parents, Margie and Charles "Jack" Lefler. She is survived by her
sister, Michelle (Dale) Haverkamp and her children, Shane Palmer, Nicholas Ballou Hoffman, Kyle
(Jessica Beebe) Ballou Davis; and Ashton Nottingham (Chris Dewitt). She also leaves behind nine
grandchildren, Tayah Haverkamp, Kealan Dewitt, Kaiah Dewitt, Christian Wiley, Gavin Ballou, Brandon
Beebe, Austin Brown, Thomas Brown, Phillip Brown, one great-grandchild Eli Beebe, as well as two
nephews, Braedan Mason (Linda Almanza) and Brien Mason. She will be missed by her beloved aunts
and cousins all of whom were an important part of the fabric of Marchal's life and memories.
A celebration of Marchal's life will be held on Thursday, April 21 st at 10a at Pathway Church Westlink in
Room B003, 2001 N. Maize Road, Wichita, Kansas (parking in east lot). In lieu of flowers, the family asks
