Louis Maldonado, 55, passed away October 13, 2018 after a long five year battle with blood cancer and is now home with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  Louis was born in Winfield, Kansas December 5, 1962 to parents Paul and Natividad (Nati) Maldonado.  Louis graduated from Cowley County Community College with an Associate's Degree in Drafting. He then worked at local factories including, Casco South, Benny & Smith Crayola Factory and also worked at Boeing before hiring on at the Union Pacific Railroad in 2003.

Louis met his wife, Susan, in 1987.  After dating several years, Louis married Susan Ann Mason in April of 1992.  While working at Boeing they lived in Mulvane for nine years before moving to Wichita in 2006.  Louis is survived by his wife of 26 years, Susan, his sister Patricia Cato, brother Carlos Maldonado; six children: Ryan, Alyssa, Lauren Grajeda (Alan), Nicholas, Sean, Jared and one grandchild, Mia Maldonado.

Louis loved to bass fish, watching Kansas City Chiefs games, bowling, Star Trek and John Wayne movies.  He enjoyed playing electronic and board games including Chess with his children.  In fact when he passed away, he had just purchased a new Chess set. Louis enjoyed music and loved that his children were all musically talented.  He enjoyed taking care of the house, appliances and cars.  In all 26 years, they never had to take a car to the shop!  Louis was a devoted family man and their vacations together are some of their best memories.  The family would like to thank Coach Smith for spending time with him these last few years.  Louis loved going fishing and out to eat at KFC with Gary.

Louis attended several Christian churches in the area with his family over the years.  For the last five years, he had been attending Community Bible Chapel.
