Lorena Jo Hinckley was born to Mary Dunn Bishop and Paul Roy Bishop on February 23, 1927 in Wichita, Kansas. She passed away at Comfort Care Home in Wichita, Kansas on December 3, 2025.
She loved the outdoors, and activities and games shared with her children and grandchildren. She was quite competitive, especially when playing memory which she could never manage to beat the kids. She maintained a beautiful yard and had a bird sanctuary placed and enjoyed her purple martin house. Physical exercise and healthy eating were important to her. She was a volunteer in helping adults with reading skills. She completed a 5 year bible study in which she compiled beautiful binders full of what she studied and passed those on. Her faith was paramount. She attended Wichita University and later graduated from Business College. She worked for Dr. Victor and Dr. Doris North for 13 years. She married James L. Hinckley in 1947.
She is survived by daughters, Cynthia Sue Elmore of Fort Worth, Texas, Dorothy Flory and husband Ron of Wichita, Ks, Mary Houser and husband Craig of Augusta, Ks. Grandchildren, Tara Fiebach and husband Mark of Wichita, Ks., Rachel McKay and husband Kelly of Augusta Ks., Beth Mackay of Douglas, Ks., Jenny Houser of Augusta, Ks., Emily, James, and John Hinckley of Texas, Ryan Hinckley of Chicago, Illinois Clint Ochoa of San Antonio, Texas. Great grandchildren Jacob MacKay, Bo McKay, Evan Houser and Justin Houser of Augusta, KS., Grace, Charlotte, Sam, Evelyn, and Will Fiebach of Wichita, Ks. One great great grandchild Kalyn Edwards.
Preceded in death by her parents, brother, Paul Bishop, Son, Michael Scott, grandson Eric Flory, and granddaughter Phoebe MacKay, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.
A celebration of life will be held December 10, 2025 at 10:30AM at Old Mission Mortuary.
