IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Linda P
Ozuna
July 29, 1961 – August 15, 2020
Linda Lee (Pendley) Ozuna fell asleep in death on Saturday, August 15, 2020 in Halstead, KS.
She was 59 years old.
Linda was born in Seattle, WA and was quickly adopted by James "Jim" and Barbara Pendley.
They lived in what would always be Linda's hometown of Wichita Falls, TX, where she attended
Rider High School. Linda lived in several areas in CA, TX and OK, but in 2007 she was happy to
call Wichita, KS her home.
Throughout her life Linda always worked hard in her various careers. Two of her favorite
places to work were Zales Jewelry and Target, where Linda was able to work with the public,
which brought her repeat customers and much joy, and she was affectionately called "Ms.
Linda" by her co-workers.
After studying the Bible with her then mother-in-law, Mary Ann, Linda sought to share this good
news from the Bible with everyone she met, especially how following the Bible's standards
changed her life, and how the truths found in the Bible brought her hope and joy. Linda's
greatest happiness came when she was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in October
1999. In her later years, despite worsening health conditions, Linda was still able to share her
hope for the future by writing encouraging Bible-based letters to the community, even devoting
more than 30 hours to this volunteer work in May 2020.
Linda loved being a mother and grandmother (Nana). She leaves behind five children. Twins:
Vanessa (Chris) Brown and James Pendley II, Patrick Healey, Noel (Brittany) Ozuna II and
Michael (Becca) Ozuna. Also four grandchildren: Makayla Brown, James Pendley III, Chaos
Ozuna, and Londyn Ozuna. Linda looked forward to becoming a Nana for the fifth time in early
2021. Linda also leaves behind her stepmom Virginia Pendley, two sisters: Tina (Munoz) Huber
and her children, and Lisa (Munoz) Francis and her children, along with a host of spiritual
brothers and sisters, in-laws, aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins, friends,
neighbors and caregivers.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents: Jim and Barbara Pendley, and her first born child:
Lucas Brown. The promise from Jehovah God mentioned at Acts 24:15 strengthened Linda's
hope of seeing these loved ones again, and she eagerly anticipated this promise becoming a
reality in the near future.
The family would like to thank the employees at Larksfield Place Healthcare Center/Home
Health in Wichita and Halstead Health and Rehab in Halstead. The loving, supportive, quality
care from these employees made Linda feel safe and part of a family and it showed in her
determination to fight her illnesses over the difficult past two years.
A private family viewing will be held on Saturday, August 22 2020 at Old Mission Mortuary.
"A memorial service will be held over Zoom, due to the current coronavirus pandemic
