September 3, 1939 – March 3, 2024
Lilah Mae Bohn, 84, passed away Sunday, March 3rd, 2024, in the comfort of her own home surrounded by family in Bel Aire, KS. She is preceded in death by her husband, Allen Bohn; mother, Elizabeth (Alston); father, Elvin Miller and stepfather, Alvin Graber. She was born in Hurley, SD on September 3rd, 1939, and grew up in the Wayland/Washington, IA area. Allen and Lilah Bohn were wed on March 16th, 1958. In 1963, she graduated from Goshen College with a degree in Education. In 1964 they moved to Newton, KS and had a deaf son, Michael. In 1970, Lilah graduated from WSU with her Masters in Speech Language Pathology. In 1972, their daughter Amy was born. In 1975, Lilah taught speech for the Newton Special-Ed Co-op. In 1999, Lilah retired to help care for her two granddaughters, Alyssa and Natalie Boaldin. Lilah is survived by her son, Mike; grandson, Desmond Arogancia; daughter, Amy (Chris) Boaldin; granddaughter, Alyssa (Fletcher) Franklin; granddaughter, Natalie Boaldin; siblings, Lorene Kaufman, Rod Graber, and Lavonne Dyck. A visitation will be Thursday, March 7, 4-8 pm, at Old Mission Mortuary. A funeral service following Friday, March 8, 11 am, 2024, at Unity Church of Wichita. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Unity Church of Wichita, 2160 N. Oliver, Wichita, KS, 67208 or Mennonite Central Community, 121 E. 30th St. N. Newton, KS, 67117.
