It is with great sadness and aching hearts we announce the passing of Lay Sok of Kansas City, MO on Sunday, July 10, 2022 in Wichita, KS. Lay, 73 years old, was born on October 10, 1948 in Cambodia. In April of 1982, she and her family came to the United States in hopes for a better life. It was in Kansas City that Lay created a new life and community for her and her kids. Lay, a single working mom worked hard for her family to provide them with new opportunities; many times working two jobs. She made an impact on people and many friends along the way. She is survived by her children: daughter, Channy Plang and spouse Ronnie Plang, daughter, Chanda Um and spouse Vannak Um, and son, Phaly Sok. Lay was an amazing grandma to her grandchildren: Nikita Plang, Felicia Blasdel, Andy Um, Michael Plang, Anthony Um and her Great-Grandson Gavin Blasdel.
