Lawrence Raymon Nickel, was born September 1, 1931 in Gossell, Kansas to Daniel B. and Eva (Klassen) Nickel. He died on April 16, 2011 at his home in Wichita, Kansas at the age of 79.
Lawrence was a retired dispatcher for the Kansas Gas Service and a United States Navy Veteran.
He is preceded in death by his mother and father, siblings, and a daughter Rhonda Delgado.
Lawrence is survived by his wife, Shelia; sons, Ronald (Donna) Nickel, Tom (Barbara) Nickel, Chris Nickel, Don (Brenda) Nickel, and Shawn (Penny) Davis; daughter, Deborah Davis (Staci Steddum); sixteen grandchildren, and twenty four great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions in honor of Mr. Nickels life may be made to Woodland Lakes Community Church, 770 S. Greenwich Rd, Wichita, Ks. 67207.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 21, 2011 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m., with the family present from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Old Mission Mortuary.
A Celebration of his Life will be held Friday, April 22, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Old Mission Mortuary Chapel.
