Larther Davis Jr. was born November 27, 1942, in Detroit, Michigan to the late Mr. Larther Davis Sr. and Mrs. Katherine Jackson Davis.

Larther attended the Detroit Public School System and graduated from Eastern High School in 1960. After graduation he was drafted in the U.S. Army where he served as an enlisted infantryman with duty assignments to Fort Benning, Georgia, and an overseas tour to Germany. After completing his service obligations, he was employed with Chrysler Motor Company in Detroit, Michigan. He met and married Marva Brooks, and to this union one child was born. He spent his later adult years in Wichita, Kansas where he was employed at the Marriott Hotel and Hospitality until he retired.

Larther was known as the life of family gatherings and social events. He was a catalyst to the many joyous sounds of laughter, whether it was from a joke or sharing stories of his past life experiences. He was known for his stylish attire, cool walk, radiant smile, and a smooth proper silky voice. He enjoyed and cherished the time he spent with family. He was a man of wisdom and strength which was continuously displayed even through his final days.

On Thursday morning, July 8, 2021, he transitioned at the Kansas Masonic Home to eternal rest. He is preceded in death by his father, Larther Davis Sr. and his mother Katherine Davis.

Larther leaves to cherish the most loving memories of his life a loving daughter Marlena D. Goode (Byron) and one grandson Brycen (which he referred to as "Lil Man") of Elizabethtown, KY, and a host of relatives and friends.
