- Ninety-three years on this Earth yet Lãng “Bà Tám” Thị Võ was never known to sit still. For the last few years, she was a night owl, yet she passed away quietly in her sleep in the early hours of October 27th, 2026.
- Born to Võ Duy Dương and Hồ Thị Kiếm on May 4th, 1933 in Đà Nẵng, Vietnam, Lãng was the youngest of seven children. There she met the love of her life, Lương Văn Huỳnh. As one of seven kids, it was not a surprise that she created a big family of her own. Together, they had nine children before they decided to take a risk and move to America to start over.
- After multiple moves, they settled in their final home together, the one on Market, the one referred to as “Grandma’s house.” In this house, Lang raised her kids, her grandkids, and her great grandkids. In this house, voices boomed, laughter echoed through the walls, and bellies were stuffed to the brim. Her love language was FOOD! The first thing she’d say was “ăn gì chưa?” (Did you eat yet?). Even after you already ate, she’d tell you to eat more. If you thought you could escape without taking food home, you thought wrong.
- It wasn’t the structure of the house or the furniture that made her house special. What made it special was her. Her presence made you feel prioritized like you were the only one in the room. She showed you how to love unconditionally because despite any mistakes anyone made, her door always remained open. She inspired her kids and grandkids to be better because she believed in them wholeheartedly.
- As her timeline dwindled down, she was able to spend quality time with those she loved. Visitors came from all over the United States to see her. Callers from all over the world called or FaceTimed her. Her beautiful soul will always remain unmatched, and her memories will always live among her loved ones. While she joins her anxiously awaiting husband of more than 60 years, she is survived by her kids Xinh Huynh, Hoa Huynh, Thuong Huynh, Tuyet Huynh, Pho Huynh (Anh Tran), Xuan Huynh, and Dung Huynh, her 18 grandchildren, and her great grandchildren.
