Kathryn Elizabeth Barton, daughter of John and Nancy Poland Barton, was born in Wichita,KS on March 11, 1983. She died at age 42 on March 21, 2025. Having experiencing a severe brain injury, Katie required help from numerous organizations serving the handicapped for her entire life. At the time of her death, Katie was receiving residential care and Day Program services provided by Arrowhead West, Inc.

Katie is survived by her parents and her brother, Brian Barton (Jennifer Cardona Barton), Chicago, IL., nephew Atticus Barton and nieces Sadie and Francis Barton.

She was predeceased by her brother, Patrick Barton and maternal grandparents Dr. Leo and Wilma Poland of Wichita, KS and paternal grandparents Kirk and Elizabeth Barton from Oklahoma.

A Celebration of Life will occur on Saturday April 5 at 2:00pm at Old Mission Mortuary and Cemetery, 3424 E. 21st Street, Wichita, KS. The family will be available to visit with friends and family at 1:00pm, prior to the service.

Burial at Old Mission Cemetery will be at a later date.
