Jose Luis Serrano, 65, passed away February 27, 2019. He was born August 12, 1953 in Guadalajara, Mexico. He came to the United States as a child and when old enough, he joined the United States Army. He was stationed at Fort Carson, CO and served his country proudly during his enlistment! Next, Jose moved to Wichita, KS and continued to serve, only this time it was by proudly wearing the badge of the Wichita Police Department. He was part of various task forces and earned multiple awards during his distinguished career. His last job was still service to others while being employed with the American Red Cross. He devoted nearly 18 years to their mission and enjoyed helping others.  Jose was preceded in death by his parents Mary McDonald and Luis Serrano. His survivors include step-father Lynn McDonald, children, Rachel Serrano, Sarah Nichols, Aaron (Emily) Serrano, Adam Serrano, and Elizabeth Serrano; and 7 grandchildren. Funeral Service is at 10:30 am Wednesday March 6 ^th at Old Mission Mortuary.
