John Junior Harvey, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours on May 14th surrounded by his loves at his home. He was born March 26, 1946 in Mooringsport, LA. to Melinda Harvey and J W Harvey. He lived in Louisiana until he moved to Wichita, Ks. in the early 60's. He was a mason with St. Luke Lodge #1. He grew up with a love for church and singing. He joined Rising Star Missionary Baptist Church under Pastor J. D. Mackey in 1994. He became ordained as a Deacon in 1995. He loved to sing in the church every chance he got. He worked in construction for many years before he was forced to stop due to health issues. He did maintenance and lawn mowing for many people over the past several years. He also drove a school bus for Wichita public schools until he finally retired. He was always on the go and loved helping others. He loved his family and his grandkids were his heart. He was preceded in death by his mother and father; 3 brothers and 2 sisters. He is survived by a daughter Emma Denise Miller (Niecy) of Shreveport, LA. a son John Harvey Jr (Jennifer Harvey) of South Hutchinson, Ks. a daughter Tonya Birde (Dylan Craft) of Independence, Ks. a niece he raised as a daughter Cataezia Aragon (Jeremy Aragon) of Wichita, Ks. 2 brothers; Early Green and James Williams of Wichita Ks, 3 grandsons, 4 granddaughters and 2 great grandchildren.
