John J. Garcia, 86, retired United States Postal Service Supervisor, died May 26, 2009.
He served as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division during World War II at the Battle of the Bulge and in France on D-Day.
John was faithful to Planeview Community Church serving as deacon and Sunday School teacher.
Survived by his wife of sixty four years, Joan; son, Colin John (Kay) Garcia; daughter, Leslie (Grant) Swearingen; brother, Robert (Jan) Garcia; sisters, Mary Myshka and Elveta Kruse; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Viewing and visitation will be held Friday, May 29, 2009 from 1:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Old Mission Mortuary. Family will be present from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday, May 30, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Planeview Community Church.
