John M. Cochran, 81, passed away peacefully at home on February 28, 2016. He was born in 1934 in N. Kansas City, MO to John and Essie Cochran. They moved to Little Rock, AR where he graduated from high school. He attended Kansas State University, then graduated from Pittsburg State with a B.S. in Education. He received a Master of Arts from Fort Hays State. Mr. Cochran taught for 38 years and coached for 50 years in Great Bend and Wichita. Survivors include his wife, Lois of the home; four daughters, Bobbi Carriger (Dennis), Skiatook, OK, Terri Petersen (Jim), Parker, Co, Gayle Davis of
Wichita, Cathy Harris (James); 8 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 4 at Old Mission Mortuary. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to Heartland Hospice.
