Virginia Zimmer, Beloved wife, mother, and friend went to be with the Lord and her cherished son Matthew on December 20, 2009. Jinny was born on March 16, 1943 to Margaret and William Werner in Oswego, NY.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2009 at Old Mission Mortuary.
She is preceded in death by her parents Margaret and William, son Matthew, and baby sister Ann Christine.
Jinny spent her entire life dedicated to two things, her family and love. It was her great pleasure to bake cookies or buy someone something special just to say how much she loved them. In her lifetime, she saw the birth of all her grandchildren, even though she suffered 4 heart attacks and lived with Diabetes. She never complained and always had time to listen to anyone who needed her.
Her great accomplishment was her marriage to Russell Zimmer and the bond of love that she brought to everyone that knew her. She was a dedicated wife and mother but most of all she was a dedicated and very loving "nana." Through the years, she took care of Austin and Hunter giving them the best kind of care, the love only a grandmother can give. Her favorite season was Christmas because she loved watching little faces light up. She said that Christmas was magic and it was the children that made it special. There is a saying that will stick with all of us as we go through the years, I LOVE YOU MORE and she did it so well.
Jinny is survived by her husband Russell Zimmer, daughter Lisa Rogers (Mark); Dean Zimmer (Stacy); and Spencer Zimmer (Karie). She is also survived by her angels which she loved with all her heart, Austin, Sam, Hunter, Madison, Gordon, Garret, Kathryn, Alyssa, Nickolas and her sister and brother, Peggy Cosimano and Bill Werner who were always there for her. She was also blessed to have numerous nephews, nieces, and brothers and sisters in-law.
