Obituary

Jerry Allen Davis lived 87 full years - born in 1938 and passing in 2025.

He was a man with depth: outdoorsman, fisherman, hunter, naturalist, photographer, historian, and lifelong learner. Everything he did reflected curiosity, grit, and a real connection to the world around him.

He loved the land and the past with equal intensity. Civil War history, Native culture, and the stories the shaped this country fascinated him.

He and Grandma loved going to Indian pow wows - taking photos, meeting people, enjoying the culture he respected so deeply.

He had a unique love for British sports cars, especially his Austin-Healey Bugrye Sprite - the perfect match for a man who enjoyed both challenge and charm. And Jerry had that unmistakable humor: teasing, sharp, warm. At car shows and gun shows, he'd still be stuck chatting the first booth while everyone else finished the entire event. He could talk to anyone, anywhere and he usually did.

Jerry served in the Navy and earned Second Class Petty Officer - a reflection of discipline and pride.

After serving his country, he spent over 42 years at Cessna Aircraft as a pipefitter. That career belonged to a man built from reliability, toughness and loyalty.

He was also a Shriner and a philanthropist, always giving, always helping, always showing up where he was needed.

Jerry was a family man first. His bond with his brother lasted a lifetime - steady, loyal, unbreakable. He loved his wife deeply. They traveled together, went to pow wows, together, took photos together, and lived the kind of closeness many people wished they had. He was also incredibly close to Mom, and the vacations they took together were chapters they treasured.

He loved living on the river - caring for the land, protecting the property, and finding peace in nature.

Jerry had a natural connection to animals. He raised fighting chickens throughout his life, with real respect for the craft and tradition.

He cherished his wolf, Cody - a bond that perfectly reflected the wild, loyal, soulful energy he connected with.

Photography became another way he captured the world he admired - landscapes, faces, moments worth remembering.

Jerry Allen Davis leaves behind 87 years of stories, lessons, and love. He leaves behind humor that can still be heard when you think of him. He leaves behind a work ethic carved from decades of commitment. He leaves behind a family shaped by his loyalty, his curiosity, and the way he lived his life.

Jerry didn't just exist - he lived.
And now every one of us carries a piece od the man he was.
