Jeffery A. Davis was born on March 16, 1960, in Wichita, Kansas, to William (Bill) Davis and Wanda J. Davis. On October 23, 2025, he passed away in Wichita, surrounded by the love of his family.
A proud graduate of Wichita Heights High School, Class of 1978, Jeff went on to serve his country with honor in the United States Navy aboard the USS Coral Sea. His time in the Navy was a testament to his dedication, courage, and unwavering sense of duty.
Beyond his service, Jeff was a loving father, devoted husband, cherished grandfather and great-grandfather, and a loyal friend to many. His life was filled with simple joys—he found happiness in leatherworking, building model cars, and crafting candles. He especially treasured time spent camping and fishing with his family, creating memories that will be held close forever.
Jeff is survived by his son, Justin Davis, and daughter-in-law, Afton Davis; his brothers Gerald (Jerry), James (Jim), and Daniel (Danny) Davis; his sister Myra Banzet; his stepchildren Bill Williams and Michele Ryder; his grandchildren Kari Ryder, Julie Ryder, Michelle Ryder, Alyssa Davis, Kadence Davis, Jacy Comstock-Backus, and Justin (JJ) Davis Jr.; his great-grandchildren Thomas Ryder, Nevaeh Collins, Zane Ryder, and Adrian Ryder; and many other beloved relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Jo Ann Davis; his parents, William G. Davis and Wanda J. Davis; his brother Darrel J. Davis; his sister Janet L. Cash; his nephew Gerald M. Sinsel; his nephew Adam Davis; and his sister-in-law Alison Davis.
Jeff's legacy endures in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He lived with honor, discipline, and a steadfast commitment to those he held dear—values shaped by his time in the United States Navy and carried throughout his life. Jeff was a man of integrity and resilience, always ready to stand tall for his family and friends. His memory will live on as a quiet strength and guiding presence for generations to come.
