Obituary

Janet Sue Wine (79) of Wichita passed away on February 20, 2022. Janet was born on January 27, 1943 in St. Joseph, MO to Rev. Earl and Lalah (Miller) Thompson. Janet graduated from Carrollton High School in Carrollton, MO and later graduated from Southwest Baptist College in Bolivar, MO.

Janet married her high school sweetheart Harris 'Dwayne' Fisher on August 24, 1962. Together they had two children, Jeffery Fisher (Kathy) of Rogers, AR, and Lisa Cottman (Tim), of Tulsa, OK. Dwayne and Janet both worked with the Disabled American Veterans, managing the Thrift Stores in Wichita for many years. Dwayne passed away on August 28, 1991; they had been married for 29 years.

God blessed Janet with a second love when a long friendship with Robert 'Bob' Wine kindled into much more. She and Bob were married on March 12, 1998 and were married nearly 24 years. Her marriage to Bob allowed her the opportunity to love two step-children Rob Wine (Patty) of Altus, OK and Julie Staehr (Brett) of Wichita, KS.

Janet's ultimate goal in life has always been for people to see Christ's love through her actions and words. She was a member of Country Acres Baptist Church and enjoyed working with children at Vacation Bible School as well as Awana's. Janet's Life Verse has been Philippians 4:13, (KJV) which states, "I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.."

Together, Janet and Bob have eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren of whom they love deeply and are very proud of.

Janet is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Lalah Thompson, her first husband Dwayne Fisher, nephew Michael Barker and former parents-in-love Harris and Velma Fisher. She is survived by her husband Robert 'Bob' Wine of Wichita and sister Evelyn Barker (David) of Marinette, WI; children Jeff Fisher (Kathy) of Rogers, AR, and Lisa Cottman (Tim) of Tulsa, OK, Rob Wine (Patty) of Altus, OK and Julie Staehr (Brett) of Wichita, KS; grandchildren Elizabeth Cockrum (Brett) of Broken Arrow, OK, Rebekah Lawrence (Alex) of Spokane, WA, Jonathan Cottman of Tulsa, OK and Stephen Cottman of Tulsa, OK, Justin Wine of Altus, OK and Evan Wine (Courtney) of Sperry, OK, Sydney Auer (Nick) of Shawnee, KS and Grant Staehr of Lawrence, KS; Great-Grandchildren Eleanor Cockrum (3), Luke Cockrum (4 months), Trenton Wine (16), Taylor Wine (11), McKennon Wine (6), Gracelynn Wine (2), Amelia Wine (6), Addie Wine (4) and Raiden Wine (1)
