Janelle Rae Fischer (Matthies) was born in Wichita, Kansas on October 16 , 1957 to Della and Eugene "Mout" Matthies. Janelle passed away on December 13, 2022 after her courageous battle with multiple myeloma .

Janelle retired after her long and rewarding career in the aerospace industry , working primarily in Wichita . A fter retirement , she thoroughly enjoyed spending time with family and friends a nd traveling. When not on the road roaming about the country visiting major league ballparks or tropical beaches, she loved sitting on her deck and planning her next gardening project. She loved working with plants and sharing the latest tips with her fellow gardeners. Janelle was a cat lover, befriending and providing homes for stray cats or fostering kittens. Janelle's home was often a gathering place for family and friends visiting from afar offering food, laughter, and fun.

Janelle is survived by daughter Sarah (Wichita), son Davis (Wichita), mother Della Matthies (Wichita), sister Kristin Schmidt (Peabody, KS), brother Mark Matthies (Littleton, CO), brother Scott Matthies (Chaplin, CT), and sister Jo Bauer (Wichita) , and grand-pup Augie .

She is preceded in death by her father Eug ene " Mout " Matthies .
