James Frank Neal, 90, passed away December 30, 2022, in Wichita, Kansas. He was born April 17, 1932, in Boone Prairie, Texas, to his parents, George and Sula (Lietz) Neal. Frank joined the Army in 1949, where he saw action in Korea. For the rest of his life, he attributed his survival on the battlefield there to the Lord's protection. After returning home from the war, Frank went to work at Boeing in Wichita, where he met the young woman who was to become his wife. He married Evelyn on July 24, 1953, and with this marriage they had 3 children, Rickey Neal, Drenda Dunn and Karen Alderson. In addition to his night-shift work at Boeing, he also operated a lawn service from 1964 to 1978, and then ran a lawn mower repair business that lasted well into his retirement years. Frank loved to travel with family and friends. After he retired, he and Evelyn took several Caribbean cruises and bus tours to the Northeast to enjoy the beautiful fall colors there. Frank was a long-time member of the Pleasant Valley Church of Christ, where his steady influence will be sorely missed. He was preceded in death by wife, Evelyn, of 66 years; his parents; two sisters; brother and a granddaughter (Lisa Harden). His 3 children; 9 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; a host of friends; neighbors; former co-workers and fellow church members survive him.
