James Butler ( JB) Fallis Jr was born to James Butler Fallis and Velma Robertson on October 31, 1929 and passed away peacefully on May 11, 2021 at the age of 91. His wife, Alice Naomi Collins Fallis, preceded him in death in 2019. He is survived by his children James Butler Fallis III (Jim) and his wife Deborah, Kathy Jean Fallis Sater and her husband Stephen, grandson Benjamin Sater and granddaughter Brianne Sater Westbury. JB completed his bachelor's degree Industrial Arts at Central State College in Ada, Oklahoma. Later he completed his Masters in Education at The Wichita State University. The majority of his work career was as a tool designer at Boeing where he helped to build many of the airliners you enjoy today. After Boeing, he designed for other companies, mostly notably Martin Marietta in New Orleans where he worked on the Space Shuttle. Later he became a teacher in industrial arts and photography at Goddard High School. JB was always an aviation enthusiast. He was a private pilot and served in the Civil Air Patrol. A dream of his was to complete his own home built Starduster II bi-wing which was in last stages at his passing. JB was a master carpenter he hand built much of the family furniture heirlooms including Grandfather Clocks. Another passion was photography as he mastered the process of film development and then charged into the age of digital photography both for teaching and preserving family memories. JB enjoyed traveling with his wife Alice. They also spent many years playing Competition Bridge with the Wichita Bridge Kastle group. Avid square dancers, Dad served as president for the Wichita Westernaires The highlight of their square dancing years was on the front of the White House. Both were active at Trinity Presbyterian church, members of the Trinity Schooners and JB served as a Deacon. In later years, another important role he held was being Great Grand Pa (GGP) to 5 granddaughters which he thoroughly enjoyed and sadness for the first great granddaughter, Sophia, lost at birth. Family was always central to his happiness. His siblings all note that is was always upbeat and family remember the huge bear hugs that surrounded them each visit and all the cool stuff at his house. He met his goal of living in his house until he passed, which he attributed to the wonderful support of his son, Jim. His family is grateful for the love and joy he brought into their lives. A family only service is planned.
