Isabel Helen Gyongyossy was born in the Pine Ridge Reservation Hospital, South Dakota on April 27, 1927, to George Gap and Susie Lone Elk. She passed away in Haysville, Kansas, on December 14, 2022.  She was raised by her grandparents, Caeser Lone Elk and Hattie Shield in which she enjoyed riding horses at a young age.  She later left the reservation as a teenager and worked various jobs.  She was a nanny at one time which taught her to be independent, she also worked in produce as well.  She lived in Shawnee, Lawton and made her home in Wichita, KS.  She enjoyed making shawls, traveling, sewing and loved spending time with family.  She also was on the board at Hunter Health and she would take the time out to help the Native Americans that were in prison.  She was independent and the strongest lady.  Nothing stopped her from doing what she put her mind to.  She was an amazing mother, sister, daughter and grandmother.  She will be dearly missed.
