Helen J. Hembree, 98, of Wichita, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Life Care Center in Wichita. She was born on August 30, 1927, in Wichita, to the late Ralph and Susie Scarth.

Helen had a warm and welcoming spirit, with a genuine love for people. She found joy in connecting with everyone she met—whether lifelong friends, new acquaintances, or members of her beloved family. Family gatherings were her greatest delight, and she cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 65 years, Walter Hembree; her sister, Carol Louise Ritchie; and her brother, George Scarth.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Beth Hembree; her son, Kerry Hembree; grandchildren, Ben and Amanda Hembree, Brett and Jessica Hembree, and David and Britt Hembree; step-grandchildren, Lance and Kristen Spott, Courtney and Austin Rogers, and Lauren Poulos; as well as thirteen great-grandchildren and step great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy.

A graveside service will be held at Old Mission/Wichita Park Cemetery at a later date.
