Obituary

Harry Alvin McGonigle, age 96, passed away leaving behind a legacy of hard work, laughter, and dedicated service to his country and family. Born on May 22, 1930, in Fowler, Kansas, he was the son of the late Ray and Lillie (Hill) McGonigle. Raised on the family farm in Fowler, Harry learned the value of a long day's work early in life.

A proud veteran, Harry served in the United States Army with Battery D, 526th Anti-Aircraft Artillery Battalion. For his honorable service during the Korean War, he was awarded the United Nations Service Medal and the Korean Service Medal with one Bronze Service Star. Following his military service, Harry built a long and dedicated career at Beechcraft, from which he eventually retired.

On October 6, 1952, Harry married the love of his life, Grace Juanita Rose. Together, they shared a beautiful life until her passing in 2012. Harry was a man who loved deeply, worked hard, and possessed a quick-witted sense of humor. He was incredibly helpful to anyone in need and never shied away from the spotlight—he truly loved attention and bringing a smile to the faces of those around him.

Harry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Grace McGonigle; his sons, William and James Ray McGonigle; his parents; and his siblings.

His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his daughter, Virginia Beale; his grandchildren, Jennifer McGonigle, Arda Eisele (Joe), Kelly Meier (Jeff), and Jamie Banfill, William Beale, Carol Beale, and Joseph Beale; as well as nine great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and many extended family members and friend.
