Gladys Mae Hedges was born in Searcy, Arkansas on January 14, 1925 To Altie D. English and Florence M. English.

She passed away at Amani Home Plus in Wichita, Kansas on September 7, 2024.

Her hobbies were fishing, gardening, painting, ceramics and tending to her koi pond.

Gladys worked at Boeing Aircraft Company while her husband John was in the military. When John returned from the war, they operated a furniture store for a few years, before starting a residential paperhanging and painting business they ran for many, many years.

Gladys is survived by her brother Earl English, daughter Joyce (Johnny) Mae Graves, son Danny T. Cochran, grandchildren Ernest C. Graves Jr., Aaron L. Graves, Tracy Woodson, Michelle Williamson, Danny Cochran and many great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband John E. Cochran, daughter Shirley Cochran and four brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held at Old Mission Mortuary, 3424 E 21st St. N. Wichita, Kansas at 11:00AM, September 17, 2024 with visitation taking place one hour before service time. Graveside services to follow at Old Mission Cemetery at 12:00PM.
