IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Geneva
Cameron
September 2, 1946 – October 5, 2024
Geneva Paulette Cameron was born into this life on September 02, 1946. She was the 4th eldest of nine children born to Alphanso Harris and Melba Martin, both preceded her in death along with her second eldest sister and two brothers.
She graduated from Governor State University summa cume laude. She went on to be a schoolteacher at Dirksen Middle School. She met the love of her life Ambrose Cameron III on July 10, 1965. On July 10, 2018 they held each other close as they celebrated 53 years of marriage. This union was blessed with three sons; Monte, Danon and Derrick Cameron.
Geneva was loved by students at Dirkson Middle School. Instead of going out for recess many would stay in class to learn with Mrs. Cameron. She worked diligently and later became a business owner, owning Cameron Insurance Agency. It became a family affair. She enjoyed playing golf with Ambrose and watching sports with her sons. She was an awesome supporter of her son's sports activities. Her greatest joy was time spent with family and preparing dinner.
On October 5, 2024 Gevena departed this life knowing she was dearly loved. She leaves behind three sons Monte, Danon and Derrick, two grandchildren Danon and Delorean, a great grandson Danon JR and great granddaughters Selene Lorene and Kali Dior Cameron. Three sisters Diana Taylor, Carolyn Sutton and Beverly Hull, five brothers, Donald Harris, Ricky Hull, Gary Dean Hull, Gregory Martin, Brian Martin and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
