Mr. Gene Michael Campbell, born on March 4, 1934 in Wichita, Kansas to the late Kathleen Daisy Payton Campbell and the late Robert Wellington Campbell, passed away suddenly at age 84 on July 28, 2018.

Gene attended Kansas State University. He was in the greenhouse and garden center industry for 60 years and was the owner of Campbell's Phoenix Greenhouse and Plant Kingdom Garden Centers. He was a charter member of Botanica, the Wichita Gardens.

His great loves were Barbara Jean Barton Campbell, his wife of 65 years, his family and travel. Gene and Barbara visited over 120 countries on all seven of the earth's continents.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert W. Campbell III and John Payton Campbell; and grandchildren, Justin Barton Campbell and Sarah Jean Behnke.

Gene is survived by his children: Lynn Campbell Behnke (Binky), Christine Campbell Martin (Don), Timothy Barton Campbell (Rita), Gina Michele Campbell, and Nicholas Anthony Campbell (Carla); brother, Charles M. Campbell (Marilyn); sister, Mary Campbell Brown (Bill);  grandchildren, Collin Campbell, Mary Behnke, Brandon Campbell (Amanda), Jessica Martin, Evan Campbell (Daydra), Nelson Campbell (Courtney) and Matthew Martin; and great-grandchildren, Lachlan, Elora, Henry, Wyatt, Jericho, Izabella, Adrianna and Zena Campbell.
