Freda Doriene Smith, 88, passed away March 3, 2026, in Wichita, Kanas. Born January 7, 1938 to Emmett Arthur Keller and Verlie Faye Leatherman in Pratt, Kansas.

Freda was married to Carl E. Mercer until he passed, then remarried to Bill Smith whom she was married to until his passing.

She enjoyed phone painting apps, crossword puzzles, collected salt and pepper shakers, and collecting watches. Freda was also and Honorary Wesley Ambassador at Wesley Hospital.

Freda is survived by her son Gary, grandchildren Danielle and three daughters, Doug and his two daughters, six great granddaughters; Jillian, Allison, Brooklyn, Luna, Willow and Jordan. Many stepchildren and many step-grandchildren and stepson, David Smith also survived by her brother Buddy Keller and many nieces, nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews

She is preceded in death by her husbands Carl E. Mercer and Bill Smith, her parents and all but one of her brothers and sisters and son Charles E. Mercer.
