Obituary

Euterpe Clouvas Chakales, passed into eternal life on November 5, 2014. "Effie" as she was called, was known for her fiery spirit, overwhelming generosity, and infinite kindness. Her life was an epic journey, spanning three continents, twenty countries and nine decades. She spoke 7 languages, but her best language was friendship. Born in Egypt and living in Europe, she crafted a life for herself in America through a sheer force of will and incredible work ethic. As with many women in her generation, she managed a career and a home with the skill of artist. She retired from Beechcraft as a translator, in the International Division, in 1985 and continued working into her 80s. She is survived by her daughters Maria Ciski and Virginia Bradley, and grandchildren Eric Bradley and Samantha Terzis.
