Eugene "Gene" Allen Hoyt passed away Thursday, April 4, 2019. He was born on November 20, 1946 in Mars Hill, Maine to Earl and Joyce Hoyt. Gene has a brother Robert (Vel) Hoyt. Gene joined the Military Army & Air Force; he received many medals while in the service. Arms Expert, PME NCO Ribbon with a bronze leaf, National Defense, Air Force over sea's Ribbon Vietnam Service Medal with bronze Star, Outstanding Unit Award with a bronze leaf cluster, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal with a silver oak leaf cluster. Gene retired in June of 1988, and began a career with Boeing, and Spirit until he retired from the Air Craft industry. Gene was active in the American Legion and the VFW. With all this happening he still found time to get 2 Bachelors' degree's and help raise a family with his wife of 50 years Susan K. (Wesley) Hoyt, They met in August of 1968 and were married in December that same year, together Gene and Sue had 2 children a son born in 1969; Ted (Sherrie) Hoyt; a Daughter born in 1971; Mary (Randy) Luckey and 4 Grandchildren: Tanner Christopher Hoyt, Damien Joseph Hoyt, Ethan James Hoyt, and Alyssa Jean Luckey. Gene still found time to enjoy Golfing and Bowling and was a BIG fan of the Green Bay Packers. A memorial has been set up in his name with The American Cancer Society and Kansas Honor Flight.
